Wild fans crowdfunding Ryan Hartman's fine; Evander Kane's ex-wife donates to the cause
The Minnesota Wild fanbase have started a bit of a campaign to donate money to Wild forward Ryan Hartman to help pay his $4,250 fine for flipping the bird at Edmonton Oilers winger Evander Kane.
I wish I was making this up, but Hartman has been receiving donations from fans who approve of what he did on Tuesday night and who disagree with the NHL's decision to issue the fine.
One donor stands out above all the rest. Her name is Anna Kane. Yes, that's right. Anna Kane, as in Evander Kane's ex-wife. Obviously, we've all seen her social media posts accusing Kane of gambling on his own games, his horrendous spending habits, his abandonment of his daughter, domestic violence allegations, and much more. I suppose it's only fitting that she chipped in to support Hartman.
I'm not sure what the official tally is, but there seems to be no shortage of contributors who don't want Hartman spending his own money, despite the NHLer already confirming that he wasn't concerned with the fine and that it will have been money well spent.
