With the off-season coming to an end and teams making the final tweaks to their rosters, hockey fans can expect to see a few minor deals in the coming weeks as teams attempt to become cap compliant.
Frank Seravalli announced this evening that the Wild have traded 31-year old defenceman, Dmitry Kulikov to the Anaheim Ducks for future considerations. The move was made to make room for young defenseman Calen Addison in Minnesota. The 2018 second round pick will more than likely slot into a bottom pairing role.
Anaheim adds a solid stay at home defenseman with a ton of NHL experience in Kulikov and Minnesota can bring up a young defender who has shown flashes of being a great offensive defenseman in his time in the WHL and AHL, playing at just below a point per game pace the past two years for the Iowa Wild.
The Ducks likely have something else coming down the pipeline as they now have 10 NHL defensemen signed through this coming season.
