The Edmonton Oilers, up 2-1 over the Calgary Flames in their round 2 matchup, will have a chance to go up 3-1 in the series with a win tonight in Edmonton, and a lot of their success this year can be attributed to the play of Connor McDavid.

McDavid has managed to rack up 23 points in just 10 playoff games thus far, which is something that hasn't been done in about 30 years. What he's doing right now is very impressive, but teammate Zack Kassian declared that he didn't want to "pump his tires" while sitting beside him. Of course, he was kidding, and Kassian went on to describe what McDavid means to the team and how far ahead he is of everyone else in the hockey world.

The Oilers are just 10 wins away from a Stanley Cup, though it's not going to be easy to pick up those 10 wins. If everything shakes out the way it's looking like it will now, if the Oilers can win two more and get past the Calgary Flames, their round 3 opponent is very likely to be the Colorado Avalanche. If they get past the Avs, and that's a BIG if, one of Tampa or Carolina likely awaits. Wouldn't it be something to see a 2006 rematch between the Oilers and the Hurricanes?
