With the NFL's "Quarterback" series taking off last year on Netflix, they decided to follow suit with a show revolving around 5 star wide receivers this past year to similar success. The NBA is set to unveil a series of their own on Netflix shortly, so it comes as no surprise that the NHL has joined the conversation with a series of their own on Amazon Prime.
Amazon has taken a front seat ahead of the 2024-25 season with the highly anticipated series and holding broadcasting rights for a handful of games.. TSN's Chris Johnston took to Twitter earlier today to announce that the docu-series will be released on the 4th of October and will be titled "FaceOff: Inside the NHL".
The program will feature 12 players including Edmonton Oilers' superstar duo Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, as well as Maple Leafs' forward William Nylander. .
If that wasn't enough to get the adrenaline pumping, Steve Dangle mentioned on Monday that a part of the trailer includes the infamous bench scene during the first round of the playoffs where Nylander says "stop crying, bro" to an irate Mitch Marner.
With a sneak peek of the series unveiled to a select few today, there's a clip of Nylander circulating, that gives us a great insight into the mind of the superstar, especially heading into the new season.
If that's not enough to get you excited, I don't know what will. I know what I'll be doing on October 4th.
