Maple Leafs continue to deal with health struggles as another player, Kyle Clifford, forced to leave Training Camp due to injury.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been plagued by injuries during training camp this season. Top prospects Fraser Minten and Ben Danford had both been forced to the sidelines ahead of camp due to ankle and head injuries, adding to the woes of current NHL player Connor Dewar, who has also been sidelined for training camp due to off-season shoulder surgery.

Now, there's another potential injury to report, veteran forward Kyle Clifford was seen leaving a training camp skate while favouring his foot, as noted by David Alter on X.

While Clifford hasn't been a mainstay on the Maple Leafs since playing two games in the 2022-23 season, he has been a consistent presence with the Toronto Marlies, where he serves as an alternate captain.

Known as an enforcer throughout his career, Clifford has amassed 905 penalty minutes in 753 NHL games. However, his contributions extend beyond the ice; his leadership and experience have made him a valuable asset in the locker room, especially being a former 2-time Stanley Cup champion.

The Toronto Maple Leafs organization are hoping that Clifford's injury is not serious and that the team can avoid any further setbacks as they prepare for the regular season, which kicks off on October 9 against the Montreal Canadiens.
