The coronavirus pandemic continues around the world and luckily in some areas it's slowing down. So far we've heard about some cases within the Ottawa Senators organization, the Colorado Avalanche organization and a couple of former Montreal Canadiens. Now we're learning about a former Toronto Maple Leafs' fan favourite who ran into a very scary situation. Borje Salming opened up a battle he had with a suspected case of COVID-19.
«You can see that I'm feeling good now,» Salming revealed. «This virus is really crazy. So, what I wanted to say, is you have to stay home and be safe.«This is not a fun thing to have.»The Leafs' Hall of Famer said that he felt he was dying during his hospitalization. «That was no fun,» he said. «When you get this, you can't breathe. And you know when you can't breathe, you die. So stay home, stay safe. It's no fun to get it, so I'm lucky I'm home. But you have to be careful.»Salming is extremely grateful for all the doctors and nurses helping out. «You are the best you,» he said. «You're so good, to take care and put your life on the line. All the best to you guys. You're the best.»
