The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Lou Lamoriello announced some roster moves early Tuesday morning. The team has loaned goalie Calvin Pickard to the AHL. Pickard of course made his Leafs debut against his former team, the Colorado Avalanche recently, but wasn't able to walk away with the win. He made 24 saves as the team lost in overtime, he returns to the Marlies where he has a 10-5-0 record along with a 2.20 goals against average and .919 save percentage. The team also announced that they've called up forward Frederik Gauthier. The young Leafs forward has played 25 games so far this season in the AHL and has been able to put up five goals and three assists. Despite the low numbers, he's often looked like the best Marlies player on the ice. Last year Gauthier got some NHL time and was able to put up two goals and one assist in 21 games mostly playing on the fourth line.
