"The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas announced a large amount of roster cuts on Saturday. To start, the Leafs placed placed Pontus Aberg, Ben Harpur, Jordan Schmaltz and Tyler Gaudet on waivers, with intention of assigning them to the Toronto Marlies if they clear. The team also reassigned seven players to the Toronto Marlies: Darren Archibald, Jeremy Bracco, Adam Brooks, Rich Clune, Hudson Elynuik, Pierre Engvall and Teemu Kivihalme.There will be some final chances for a couple of players to make the NHL roster tonight.The team currently has 29 players (17 forwards, 9 defencemen and 3 goalies) and will have to cut six guys before final roster is set for Wednesday's opener.
