"TSN's Bob McKenzie has been reporting that an Auston Matthews contract extension is coming in the next couple of hours/days.There's been plenty of debate on if it will be the full eight year extension or a shorter contract letting Matthews hit free agency in a couple of years. According to Bob McKenzie it's been figured out and the contract is all but done. McKenzie reports Matthews' contract extension when announced will be for 5 years and an AAV of $11.5million. This keeps Matthews under McDavid's $12.5million and gives Kyle Dubas a bit more wiggle room when it comes to Mitch Marner. Do you like this contract for Matthews?
