The Leafs fell to the Boston Bruins for the fourth straight time in a Game 7 this past May. The loss was met with firm demands for change from Leafs fans, while one Bruins fan had to give up eating one of his favourite foods for three months.
Before Game 7, Rob Thibeault posted on 'X' that he would give up eating calzones for three months if the Bruins managed to win the game and advance to the second round of the playoffs. Thibeault got his wish as David Pastrnak scored in overtime to break the hearts of Leafs Nation.
Unfortunately for Thibeault, he found out this morning that his favourite calzone place is not open today, but after waiting three months, what's one more day right?
Thibeault's bet is certainly one of the more unique wagers we have seen in recent memory and begs the question, what would you give up (or do) to see the Leafs win a Game 7 -- or you know, even make it past the second or third round of the playoffs?
Maybe we need a Leafs fan to make a ridiculous wager or sacrifice, as Thibeault did to bring some luck to the Leafs. Thibeault has reached out to David Pastrnak and the Bruins on 'X' in the hopes of sharing a calzone with them at some point this season. Honestly, it would be cool if the Bruins and Pastrnak took him up on his offer.
