Pagnotta appeared on 'Leafs Morning Take' today and discussed the potential of Marner being moved. He revealed that the Nashville Predators have already reached out to the Leafs about acquiring the perennial 90-point winger.
Pagnotta followed up that news by divulging that he thinks a trade focusing on Marner and Saros, as has previously been discussed, would make sense for both teams.
There are plenty of hurdles to overcome to put together such a massive trade, with the obvious and largest being Marner's no-movement clause, followed by potential extensions and salary cap space. While the Leafs sort out their coaching situation, it is expected that Brad Treliving will be very active leading up to the draft and free agency as he looks to put his stamp on the Leafs' roster ahead of next season.
It's worth mentioning that Treliving isn't afraid of high profile trades. Just a couple of summers ago, he pulled off one of the biggest trades in recent memory when he dealt Matthews Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers for a large package that included Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar.
