Max Pacioretty was injured in Saturday's comeback victory over the Montreal Canadiens and will now miss significant time according to Leafs head coach Craig Berube.

Max Pacioretty sat out Monday's game against Tampa Bay due to an upper-body injury and was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday morning by the Maple Leafs.

Moving Pacioretty to injured reserve means he will miss the Leafs' next two games at the minimum, but based on Berube's comments following the morning skate, he may be out for more than the minimum requirement on injured reserve.

Berube noted that Pacioretty is more than just 'day-to-day', with many believing that his injury was caused when he took a puck to the head on Saturday against the Habs.

Unlike Jake McCabe, who left a game on November 30th against Tampa after being hit with a puck, Pacioretty did finish Saturday's game.

It's the second time this season 'Patches' is set to miss time due to injury. Ironically, his first stint on injured reserve resulted from a lower-body injury he suffered against the Canadiens in November.

The 36-year-old signed a 1-year, performance based deal with the Leafs in October, and after achieving one games played bonus, is just 3 games away fromanother games played bonus.

The first-round pick from 2007 has 5 goals and added 7 assists for a total of 12 points in 32 games for the Leafs this season.
