Max Domi has struggled to provide secondary offense for the Leafs this season and may find himself on his way out of Toronto if he can't turn things around.

In June, Domi got what he had always wanted -- a lengthy extension from the Leafs, who locked up the veteran at a team-friendly $3.75M per season, which was expected to keep the 29-year-old in the blue and white until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Unfortunately for Domi, living out his childhood dream has not gone as expected. Domi began the season on a 22-game goalless drought and is currently marred in a 14-game goalless drought while only having registered 6 assists over those 14 games.

Craig Berube has almost been begging Domi to shoot the puck more all season, but the former first-round pick is averaging just 5.8 shots per 60 minutes of ice-time, which is by far the lowest of his career.

Berube even gave him an opportunity for a more offensive role with John Tavares out of the lineup, but Domi failed to capitalize.

In a recent article for The Athletic, Chris Johnston discussed 10 trade candidates that are falling out of favour with their current teams, with Domi being listed as one of them.

Johnston admits that it is unlikely Domi is dealt given he has a 13-team no-trade list and three years remaining on his deal, but if his production doesn't improve or the Leafs are unable to find a fit for him, Brad Treliving may be forced to cut ties with the fan-favourite sooner than expected.
