"It's no secret, the Toronto Maple Leafs need help on the right side of their blue line. They've been attached to the Carolina Hurricanes as trade partners going back to the William Nylander hold out, and the 'Canes might hold the solution to the Leafs defensive problems. Darren Dreger reported on Twitter that the Leafs scouting staff has been continuously checking out the Hurricanes right side defensive options. Dougie Hamilton and Brett Pesce have been the players mentioned to be on the block most often so far this season. The Hurricanes also have Justin Faulk and Trevor van Riemsdyk on the right side.
