When Craig Berube was introduced as the Maple Leafs' new head coach back in May, it was seen as a huge win for the organization, as Berube was one of the most coveted and well-respected coaches out there this summer.
However, the addition of Berube also meant changes behind the bench, as most coaches prefer to assemble their own crew rather than taking on someone else's staff.
Both Manny Malhotra (now with Vancouver) and Guy Boucher parted ways with the organization already, and with reports that Chynoweth would also not be returning, only Mike Van Ryn remains from the previous regime. Van Ryn also has a pre-existing history working with Berube in St. Louis, so it makes sense as to why he'd remain with the Leafs.
On Chynoweth, Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek touched on the veteran coach during a recent edition of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast. Apparently Chynoweth appears to be on his way to the Winnipeg Jets to coach under Scott Arniel.
All the best to Chynoweth in his next endeavor.
