The Maple Leafs have made a surprising recall ahead of Wednesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens with lingering concerns over Joseph Woll's Health.

There were concerns about the Leafs' goaltending before and during training camp regarding the health of Joseph Woll and the inexperience of Anthony Stolarz. It appears those concerns were valid ones, as, according to Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs are bringing Dennis Hildeby to Montreal for Wednesday's season opening game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Per Sportsnet's Luke Fox, the concerns seem to be centered around the health of Joseph Woll, though no official update has been provided as of yet by the Maple Leafs.

Health issues are not new to Woll, who was injured in the final seconds of Game 6 between the Leafs and the Bruins, forcing Ilya Samsonov back into the net in an all-important Game 7. While Samsonov had played a decent game as a whole, there is little doubt that the team would have played with a lot more confidence in front of Woll.

Hildeby was outstanding during his two pre-season appearances including posting a .963 save percentage in a 2-1 win over the Canadiens on September 28th.

Although the main concern for Leafs Nation surrounds injuries, the Leafs could also simply be sending Stolarz to New Jersey a day early to prepare for Thursday's game against the New Jersey Devils. We will provide an update as soon as one becomes available -- likely following the morning skate in Montreal.
