Brown, who was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012 and remained with the organization until 2019, signed a 1-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers last summer for the league minimum $775,000.
He hasn't had the strongest year by any stretch of the imagination, posting just 12 points in 71 games. Even his playoff numbers don't look all that flashy, with just 5 points in 16 postseason games, but his actual play in these playoffs has been very solid, regardless of the level of production.
Brown and the Oilers met with the media on Tuesday in anticipation of the all-important Game 5 tonight in Florida and it didn't take long for the media to make mention of his incredible and inspiring playoff beard.
Brown's playoff beard is undoubtedly the longest on the team this year, and it's probably safe to say he hopes it gets even longer as the Oilers look to extend the series to the full 7 games. Of course, they'll need wins tonight and Friday if they want to have any hope of forcing a final and deciding Game 7.
