The Toronto Maple Leafs are pretty much guaranteed to do something at the trade deadline. Recently general manager Kyle Dubas admitted that if Alex Galchenyuk can catch a wave and start to produce, it would lessen the need for a top six forward and Dubas could instead focus on strengthening the blueline. With question marks surrounding Frederik Andersen's future and health, giving Jack Campbell some insulation considering he's not 100% healthy would definitely be a plus. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman they have a target. Friedman reports that the Leafs are considering 6'7" 255lb Dallas Stars' defenseman Jamie Oleksiak. The Toronto native would be a big body presence and add some needed depth on the blueline. The 28 year old is in the final year of his contract that carries a $2.137million cap hit on the season and has registered 8 points in 37 games so far this season while eating around 20 minutes a game.
