While everybody's focus has been on the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team sits in second place of the Atlantic Division, the Leafs pipeline of prospects continues to produce as well. One of the Leafs's top prospects will be leaving the Toronto Marlies for awhile as he's been loaned to Team Sweden. Leafs 2017 first round pick, Timothy Liljegren, will be participating in the World Junior Championship. This will be the 18 year old's debut at the world famous tournament, however he's very familiar with world competition having participated in the under 18, under 17 and under 16 tournaments in the last three years. Liljegren won the silver medal with his teammates at the under 18 tournament where he was an alternate captain. The young Leafs blueliner is currently enjoying a respectable first season with the Marlies with nine points in 17 games so far in the AHL. After having a great summer camp and exhibition camp with the NHL team impressing fans and management.
