The Toronto Maple Leafs luckily don't have any monster contracts that need to be handed out this offseason. There's of course Zach Hyman who's looking for a new deal but from all accounts, it's looking more and more likely that he's played his final game as a Leaf. Next year will be a different story of course. The pillar of the Leafs' defense will be looking for a new contract. Morgan Rielly will be 28 years old when it's time to try and bang out a new contract and despite the Leafs recent history of keeping pending free agents and letting them walk, Rielly could be a contender for the other scenarios. A trade could be likely however Rielly has been vocal about willing to take a hometown discount. Just what could that discount look like?According to James Mirtle of The Athletic, Rielly would likely be willing to sign something in the $6.5million AAV range with a long term deal. That would be way under the market value deal he could probably get at $8million or so AAV but on shorter term. Would you be willing to give Rielly a 7 year deal with a $6.5million AAV?
