Juraj Slafkovsky nearly bites off more than he can chew with Max Domi
Maple Leafs forward Max Domi was the first star of the game Saturday night against his former team in Montreal and he was also the player awarded the Toronto game belt, which is handed off to the player of the game from the previous belt-holder. Domi notched a goal and an assist against the Canadiens in a 3-2 Leafs win, but there was a point in the game where we thought most of the talk would be surrounding a 5'10 Domi fighting a 6'3 Juraj Slafkovsky.
Unfortunately for Domi, his counterpart, Slafkovsky, was all talk and did not want to engage in a fight with Domi after exchanging pleasantries with the fiesty Maple Leafs veteran of 645 NHL games.
At one point in the Domi and Slafkovsky discussion, you can see Max ask Juraj if he wants one, and I'm sure he didn't mean a cold one. With nothing coming out of it, it's simple to say the Habs rookie kindly declined as he likely didn't want to get embarrassed in a fight against a veteran who has participated in plenty of tussles.
With everything that he has shown us this season from playmaking to chipping in goals to playing scrappy like his father, Tie Domi, Max Domi's tenacity and edge will help the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs this season.
