As we all know by now, there's going to be lots of offseason action this season for multiple teams. The NHL and NHLPA decided that there won't be a salary cap increase next year and it could possibly stay flat for the next three seasons. That means teams that signed big contracts the last couple of years hoping the cap would go up once again this year are basically screwed. The Toronto Maple Leafs are of course one of those teams and it's pretty much inevitable somebody will be shipped out of town. Anaheim Ducks insider Eric Stephens from The Athletic believes there's a strong possibly it'll be Kasperi Kapanen and he'll end up in Anaheim. "While Hyman would be a great fit with Anaheim, Kapanen should be the choice given the 24-year-old's offensive upside and a potentially bigger role in Southern California. His $3.2-million cap hit and real salaries of $2.86 million in 2020-21 and $2.34 million in 2021-22 are highly palatable."With the Leafs pretty cap strapped, it'll be interesting to see what kind of return the Leafs would be able to pull from Anaheim for Kapanen.
