The Toronto Maple Leafs ended the Winnipeg Jets' 8-game winning streak on Monday and reminded Mark Scheifele that what goes around, comes around.

After a heated game in December of 2021, that saw the Winnipeg Jets prevail 6-3 and Logan Stanley celebrate like a moron after jumping Wayne Simmonds late in the third period, the Jets' camera crew caught Scheifele addressing his teammates with his now infamous quote.

"Is there anything better than beating the Leafs?"

Unfortunately for Scheifele and the Jets, they haven't experienced "VIIICTORYYY" or what it's like to beat the Leafs since that game. In the 6 games since then, the Leafs are 6-0 against the Jets and have outscored them 26-11, including the 6-4 win Monday night.

Following the win and a huge night from the Leafs' new second line of William Nylander, John Tavares and Max Pacioretty, who combined for 4 goals and 9 points, the Leafs awarded their Player of the Game belt. After scoring a hat trick, Tavares was the recipient of the belt and the Leafs' social media team decided to remind the Jets and Scheifele of that infamous quote when they shared the JT belt pic on social media. The caption for the post read, "Anything better than a new belt pic?"

Needless to say, fans piled it on in the comments after watching the Leafs snap their 3-game losing streak in style. The Leafs now have a couple of days off before they head into a busy weekend with 3 games in 4 nights, beginning Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.
