With major changes expected for the Leafs, reports indicate they are going to seek permission to speak to former Blues coach Craig Berube.

Many expect some significant changes amongst the Leafs this season after another first round exit. Some think one of the "Core 4" will be traded while others believe the time has come for Brendan Shanahan and/or Sheldon Keefe to leave the organization. According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Leafs have expressed interest in Craig Berube.

"As TFP's David Pagnotta reported on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio last month, the Leafs are believed to have interest in former St. Louis Blues bench boss Craig Berube becoming their next coach and could look to interview him if they decide to make a coaching change."

The former NHLer guided the St. Louis Blues from last place to the Stanley Cup in 2019, but was fired by the Blues in December. The Leafs will have to seek permission to speak to Berube as he still has a year on his contract with the Blues.
