The news comes from trusted insider Kevin Weekes, who issued the report at 9:54am on Monday. The deal is not yet finalized, but according to Weekes, it will come with a significant salary increase.
Woll is slated to earn between $3.5M and $4M per season on his new deal, which will carry a 3-year term. Woll has one year remaining on his current deal at $766K, so his new deal will not begin until 2025-26 and run through the 2027-28 season.
The 25-year-old netminder has had some injury issues during his young career, but has played some quality hockey for the Maple Leafs when healthy. Woll posted a 12-11-1 record last season, with a 2.94 GAA and a .907 SV%, which were well below his career averages in all categories.
However, when he stepped between the pipes in the playoffs, Woll was an absolute world beater for the Leafs, posting a 0.86 GAA and a .964 SV% winning both of his starts against Boston to force Game 7 against Boston. Unfortunately, an injury in the dying seconds of Game 6 rendered him unavailable for Game 7.
