Stolarz was one of the few bright spots in last night's season opener against the Montreal Canadiens and with Woll sidelined on the IR, it looks like Craig Berube will be handing the reins to the veteran goaltender on the second leg of their back-to-back tonight in New Jersey.
Woll was placed on the IR with a lower body ailment hours before puck drop last night. Stolarz stepped in and made 26 saves, but was the hard-luck loser with Samuel Montembeault recording a 47-save shutout.
Despite the season just starting and the club already dealing with a back-to-back situation, Berube will looking towards Stolarz once again with Dennis Hildeby registered as the backup.
The Maple Leafs will then return home to host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, marking their third game in four nights, and one would have to imagine that Craig Berube turns right back to Stolarz for that game as well, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Stolarz will be looking for his first victory as a member of the Maple Leafs tonight in front of his friends and family as a native of Edison, New Jersey.
In other news Bobby McMann is expected to draw into the lineup for Ryan Reaves and Timothy Liljegren and Phil Myers are expected to reprise their roles as healthy scratches.
