While most of his teammates are travelling to Europe and modelling expensive clothing, Max Domi has returned from his quick trip to Italy and has basically lived in the gym and other various training facilities as he prepares for training camp.
Domi has turned into a bit of a social media influencer since his return, continuously posting his workouts, showing how hard he is working to live up to his shiny, four-year deal that he signed on June 30th to remain a Maple Leaf after leaving money on the table to stay in Toronto.

After struggling in the first half of the season last year, not scoring his first goal in a Leafs uniform until December, Domi finished the regular season strong, tallying 23 points in his final 32 games and adding 4 points in seven playoff games.
Domi had always wanted to be a Leaf and admitted when he signed his extension that his previous one and two-year contracts were done on purpose to set himself up to come to Toronto at some point. With his new extension, Domi looks to be preparing himself for what could be a monstrous season.
The 2nd generation Leaf has cracked the 50-point mark just three times in his career, with a career-high 72 points during the 2018-2019 season, but if he can build off of the end of last season, he should easily eclipse that mark this season.
The 29-year-old faired much better when he was shifted to the wing last season, but his current role has not been publicly defined as of yet. His versatility, however, will give new head coach Craig Berube the ability to tinker with his lineup until he finds the right roles for everyone. If Domi can put up between 45 and 50 points, with a cap hit of $3.75M, his contract will most definitely be seen as a bargain. If he can reach the 60-point plateau, his might be the best contract in the NHL next season.
