On Thursday, the city of Brampton, Ontario hosted the star-studded event in hopes of raising money for its second hospital. The event brought in $14M, and featured Team Marner, coached by the legendary Doug Gilmour. Meanwhile, Team Domi had a legendary coach of their own in Wendel Clark.
Aside from Marner and Domi, several NHL players, past and present, played in this one, including Ryan Getzlaf, Kris Versteeg, Chris Chelios, Chris Pronger, Dylan Strome, Shayne Corson and women's hockey star Tessa Bonhomme. But it was Marner and Domi who were the true stars of the event, .
By the looks of things, Marner appears to be in good spirits, despite taking more than his fair share of heat following another early postseason exit in 2023-24 -- perhaps a good sign that he feels more prepared than ever to have himself a career season in Toronto.
Marner is entering the final year of a 6-year contract, and has been eligible to sign an extension since July 1st.
Meanwhile, Domi recently signed a 4-year extension with the organization for a very reasonable $3.75M per season.
