According to TSN's Darren Dreger, there are many teams emerging as legitimate threats to outbid the Maple Leafs on Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton.
While attempting to exercise some patience, the Maple Leafs have already missed out on a number of players whom they were linked to ahead of the March 7th trade deadline.
One player who has not yet been traded, however, is Flyers forward Scott Laughton, who recently trolled fans when he released a "Last Supper photo", teasing a trade out of Philadelphia.
As of Monday, nothing had really changed on the Laughton front. However, on Tuesday, TSN's Darren Dreger mentioned that as many as 8 teams had gotten involved in the bidding war.
"As many as 8 teams swirling around the Flyers with calls on Scott Laughton. The center market is shrinking so Briere is in no rush. 1st round picks are in play, but there could be room for improvement as the week unfolds."
Per Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco, the Leafs may very well be the odds on favourite to land the Ontario native, though he also named a pair of fellow Canadian clubs as potential bidders.
"Teams include the Devils, Leafs, Senators, and Jets. Can't say for certain, but I wouldn't be shocked if TO is pushing the hardest."
The Panthers also have more than $8M to spend following Matthew Tkachuk landing on LTIR for what is believed to be the remainder of the season. You simply know that the Panthers are going to continue to add, under the circumstances.
The rumoured ask on Laughton is believed to be a 1st round pick, though the Flyers have also shown a keen interest in adding top Leafs prospect Fraser Minten if the Leafs are unwilling to part with their 2026 1st round pick.
