The Nylander brothers are proving that goal-scoring runs in the family following a strong start to their seasons with the Maple Leafs, Marlies.

It is uncommon for siblings to make it to the NHL, let alone play in the same organization. However, William and Alex Nylander are both part of the Toronto Maple Leafs system, in the NHL, AHL, respectively. It's even rarer for both brothers to lead their teams in goals through the first few weeks of the season, but that's exactly what William and Alex Nylander have accomplished with their impressive performances thus far.

As Kevin Papetti noted on X:

''Nylander scoring competition...

William: 5G, 2A
Alex: 5G, 1A''

The scoring pace for both brothers isn't entirely surprising. William Nylander has recorded back-to-back 40-goal seasons and is well on his way to achieving a third season in that range, while also chasing his first 100-point season.

Meanwhile, Alex Nylander has shown that he can score in bunches, notably during his stint with the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, where he netted 11 goals in 23 games after being traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

William is in the first year of his lucrative contract, which pays him an average of $11.5 million per season over the next eight seasons, and he is currently living up to the expectations that come with it. On the other hand, Alex is eager to secure an NHL contract after signing a one-year AHL deal with the Maple Leafs organization. With his hot start, he is demonstrating that he possesses NHL caliber goal-scoring talent, which would be a valuable addition to any NHL team.

Whether it's the Nylander family DNA or just a strong start for both brothers, I'm excited about what we're seeing. Also, because of this impressive start, myself, along with many other Maple Leafs fans, are hopeful for a potential Nylander brother line for the Maple Leafs in the near future, not only for the vibes, but for the electric scoring potential.
