Perfect Trade Partner for Maple Leafs for a Nick Robertson Deal Identified
The Nashville Predators could be the ideal trade partners for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a deal involving Nick Robertson for a number of interesting reasons.
The Maple Leafs have had an impressive season so far, leading the Atlantic Division with an 18-9-2 record. However, their success has been an uphill battle, thanks to an ongoing struggle with injuries and inconsistency.
While this has provided opportunities for players to step up and make a case for regular NHL roles, it has also created a challenge as players return to the lineup, forcing some to be scratched.
Unfortunately for Robertson, he has been a healthy scratch for several games.
With the roster nearing full health, it may be time for the Maple Leafs to seriously consider trading Robertson. His tenure in Toronto hasn't quite worked out the way anyone has planned and he has recently faced some criticism from head coach Craig Berube for his play as well.
One potential trade partner for the Maple Leafd is the Nashville Predators. As noted by mic_mazz on X:
Juuso Parssinen of the Nashville Predators may very well be the perfect return for the Leafs when it comes to a deal involving Robertson. Both players are young, struggling to find consistent NHL roles, and could benefit from a change of scenery. Parssinen also happens to be what the Leafs need; a center.
Parssinen, a 7th-round pick in the 2019 draft, is 23 years old and has recorded 42 points in 104 career games. Robertson, also 23, was drafted in the second round of the same draft class and has accumulated 36 points in 110 games.
Both players have considerable potential, making this trade a mutually beneficial opportunity.
If the Predators are not interested in Robertson, the Maple Leafs should still explore other trade options for the 23-year-old, as it has become evident that his future in Toronto may be limited.
