The Toronto Maple Leafs and restricted free agent William Nylander continue to be stuck in a stalemate when it comes to a new contract. The December 1st deadline looms as Nylander won't be eligible to play if nothing is signed by then, trade rumors continue to build up. One name we've constantly heard attached to the Leafs is the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes have been revamping their team since the summer time dumping Jeff Skinner, Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin and have plenty of other players that could be used as trade bait. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman stated recently that the Hurricanes are willing to pay up to land the Leafs disgruntled forward. «When the time does come — if the time does come that Toronto decides they are going to deal — Carolina has made it very clear that they are all in,» The most talked about fit for the Leafs off the Hurricanes roster is defenseman Brett Pesce. Should the Leafs just move on from Nylander and get a deal done with the Hurricanes?
