The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas will be looking to make some additions this offseason to strengthen up their blueline. Dubas added Jake Muzzin during the season, however with Ron Hainsey, Jake Gardiner and Martin Marincin likely on their way out he'll need to make a move. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports in his latest "31 Thoughts" column that it looks like Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce is still looking for a trade. «A couple of sources indicated there was some in-season frustration from Brett Pesce that might force a trade.» The Leafs were reportedly offering up William Nylander earlier on in the season when he wasn't signed yet, however Dubas ended up signing Nylander and the trade never happened. While the trouble between the Hurricanes and and Pesce reportedly happened in season, the Hurricanes upped his icetime in the playoffs which helped his stats. So they could have repaired their relationship or bumped up his trade value. We'll see if Dubas can make the move.
