It's no secret, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the market to land some forward depth. We've heard them attached to a couple of forwards and now according to one NHL insider, the Leafs are looking at landing a disgruntled forward. According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, the Leafs have discussed acquiring forward Sam Bennett from the Calgary Flames. Bennett has requested a trade out of Calgary and we recently heard him possibly going to New York in a Tony DeAngelo trade however the Flames have already received a lot of criticism just for exploring the idea. With the Flames likely out on DeAngelo, the Leafs have some defensemen that the Flames could be looking for. We've heard both Travis Dermott and Mikko Lehtonen being available on the trade block while Rasmus Sandin has publicly complained about playing time. Forward Pierre Engvall would likely have to be thrown into any deal as well to equal out the salary cap. It would likely require one of those three defensemen going to Calgary to land Bennett. This will be an interesting story to follow over the next couple of days.
