Recently former NHLer Rob Schremp took some shots at his former teammate John Tavares. Schremp commented on a Tweet about the difference between the Islanders' success this year compared to their record last year with Tavares. «The ultimate 'I did my job' kind of superstar,» read Schremp's reply «He wins when he goes to play for his country as they are loaded with players mostly equal or better. Other than that, he just collects HIS points and HIS awards.» The comments blew up social media and a bunch of current Islanders' including Matt Martin, Thomas Hickey and Andrew Ladd publicily came to his defense.Schremp tried to explain the comments further when appearing on a podcast. "Maybe Johnny was a ceiling, maybe there was just a feeling no one could get better than him. I think he should be a great piece of the puzzle, but when I was there, what I saw was he was the whole puzzle. But I feel bad about this, I'd hate for it to be any distraction to him.» Interesting clarification from Schremp.
