Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe dropped one of the best quotes of the series against the Bruins yet, when asked about the emotions of coaching in a Game 7.
For the second game in a row, the Toronto Maple Leafs extended their season after a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins last night. The win not only forced a Game 7 on Saturday night, but also ended a six-game home losing streak in the playoffs for the Leafs.
Following the game, Keefe was asked about the emotions of coaching in a Game 7, something that the Leafs have not faired well with in recent years, losing their last five.
So, how does Keefe view his upcoming task in Game 7 in Boston? He actually had a great outlook on it.
Keefe and the Leafs are looking to do the same thing the Florida Panthers did to the Bruins last post-season, erasing a 3-1 series deficit and stealing a Game 7 win on the road.
While the Leafs have lost their last five Game 7's as mentioned, the Bruins have not faired much better going 0-3 and not winning a Game 7 since defeating the Leafs in 2019, so something has to give.
