There have been rumours of the flu, food poisoning and even a knee injury floating around out there, and while we haven't received any updates on the nature of Matthews' ailment might be, we do know that he's not far off from returning, thanks to Keefe.
Reporter Renaud Lavoie has just tweeted out that, per Keefe himself, he hopes to have Matthews back for Game 7, should the Leafs win Game 6 tonight in Toronto.
Obviously, it's tough not to get excited about the possibility of having Matthews back, but until we know the outcome of Game 6, we may have to temper our expectations a bit.
The only concern fans will have if the Leafs do indeed force a Game 7 and if Matthews does suit up is what percentage will he be returning at? Even at 80%, Matthews is still a game-changer, so that's not really a concern that I would latch onto, personally.
