A Swedish Rollerblader's incredible 2100KM journey has raised an absurd amount of money for Börje Salming's ALS Foundation.

Maple Leafs legend Börje Salming played over 1,000 games for the team from 1973 to 1989. The Swedish-born defender accumulated 787 points in 1,148 NHL games. Unfortunately, Salming passed away in 2022 after a battle with ALS.

Known for his incredible work ethic on and off the ice, Salming's legacy continues through the Börje Salming ALS Foundation.

As I mentioned above, Swedish rollerblader Oliver Eriksson undertook an extraordinary 2,100 km journey from Kiruna to Ystad recently, raising over $50,000 for Salming's foundation.

Initially, long-time TSN analyst Gord Miller tweeted:

''This is a nice story from Sweden: Oliver Eriksson has just rollerbladed nearly 700km from Avesta, hometown of Nicklas Lidstrom (pictured with Eriksson) to Ystad in southern Sweden to raise money for the Borje Salming ALS foundation, raising more than $40,000.''

Miller later corrected his a tweet:

''Correction: Oliver rollerbladed more than 2100km from Kiruna to Ystad and raised more than $50,000 for the Borje Salming ALS Foundation''

Salming, often regarded as the greatest Maple Leafs defenseman of all time, had his #21 retired by the Leafs. He was also the first Swedish-born player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996.
