We have reached the midway point of the off-season with August primarily trending to a be a pretty quiet month for hockey news. This is before things ramp up in September, with training camps opening and preseason hockey.
Toronto had a very busy pre-season schedule last year, playing a total of eight games. Many hockey fans who feel the pre-season is took long will be happy to know Toronto only has six games on the pre-season schedule for the 2024-25 season.
The full schedule is listed below:
Sunday, September 22 7 pm ET vs. Ottawa Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)
Tuesday, September 24 7 pm ET at Ottawa Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa, ON)
Thursday, September 26 7 pm ET vs. Montréal Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)
Saturday, September 28 7 pm ET at Montréal Bell Centre (Montréal, QC)

Saturday, October 5 7 pm ET vs. Detroit Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)
With the Leafs playing two games each against division rivals in the Senators, Red Wings and Canadiens, it will provide plenty of time to see how the big stars are looking ahead of the new season while getting to see a glimpse of young prospects looking to make the team, including Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan.
The NHL regular season will begin in Europe on Friday, Oct. 4, when the Buffalo Sabres play the New Jersey Devils in the 2024 NHL Global Series at O2 Arena in Prague, Czechia.
Toronto doesn't play their first game of the season until October 9th, opening on the road against the Montreal Canadiens.
