The Toronto Maple Leafs have confirmed that they will be using a brand new logo for an upcoming special event and have unveiled the logo for all to see on social media.

Throughout the course of the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs and several other NHL teams find ways to honour different communities in an attempt to bring everyone together using hockey as the common interest that bridges the gap.

On January 11th, the Leafs will host their next special event, the Indigenous Heritage game, against the Vancouver Canucks. In doing so, they'll also be wearing a special jersey for the occasion.

On Wednesday, less than 24 hours after leaving Philadelphia with a 3-2 win to cap off a 5-game win streak, the Leafs have unveiled the artistic new logo from Indigenous artist Jennifer Taback, complete with a video message from the artist herself as she shares her design with the world.

The Maple Leafs also shared some additional information on the design elements, as explained by Jennifer, which includes a beadwork outline, important cultural symbols, including a turtle -- one of the central features of the design to signify "the land we all share," according to the artist herself.

Head coach Craig Berube, who is proudly indigenous himself, recently likened this year's Maple Leafs to the 2019 St. Louis Blues -- a team that he led to their first ever Stanley Cup in franchise history.

This night will be an extra special one for Berube, who was also the first ever Indigenous head coach in the history of the National Hockey League to win the Stanley Cup.

Let's hope the Leafs can keep their momentum going and pick up a win for Berube, A.K.A. "Chief", on Saturday night.
