"Much like the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL, the Toronto Marlies have not had a captain so far this season, but that changed on Wednesday morning.
The Marlies announced that Ben Smith will serve as team captain for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Colin Greening and Rich Clune will where the «A» on their sweaters as alternate captains for the remainder of the year.
It is obvious that the Marlies want a veteran leadership corps to help pave the way to the NHL for their young players. Smith, Greening and Clune have played in a combined 662 games at the NHL level.
Smith currently leads the Marlies with 15 points and 27 points.
When do you think the Maple Leafs will go ahead and name a captain and who should it be?"
