Wife of Johnny Gaudreau shares heartbreaking post on their 3-year anniversary
Meredith Gaudreau, the wife of Johnny Gaudreau, has made a heartbreaking announcement only days after her husband's untimely death.
One week ago tomorrow, the hockey world lost a bright star in Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau. But as much as the hockey world misses Johnny Hockey, that loss pales in comparison to the loss that his wife and family are feeling.
Meredith Gaudreau lost the love of her life last Thursday, as Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau were hit by a drunk driver while cycling home from their younger sister's wedding rehearsal. Today, Mrs. Gaudreau shared something even more heartbreaking about Johnny's passing. Today is their 3rd wedding anniversary.
Over the weekend, the man who struck and killed her husband and brother-in-law, Sean Higgins, had a video court appearance where he seemed frustrated by the fact that he had to remain in police custody for an entire week. Meanwhile, Johnny and Matthew's families will be without two of the most important people in their lives for the rest of their days.
Even almost a week later, the whole heartbreaking situation still doesn't seem real. A week ago, Johnny and Matthew were preparing for their respective seasons ahead. This week, their loved ones are planning their funerals all because someone opted to not only drink and drive, but also drive erratically and pass on the shoulder while other motorists were respecting the safety of cyclists. It's very cruel and unfair.
The hockey world and the Gaudreau family, continue to mourn the losses of Johnny and Matthew.
