Garnet Hathaway domimates Dylan Cozens in 3rd period fight
With less than 2 minutes remaining in the game, Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens and Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway got into a little skirmish with the latter dropping the former with a heavy haymaker in a very lopsided fight.
Hathaway, known for his aggression, body checks, and getting under the opposition's skin, finished a check on Cozens along the boards. Cozens, probably frustrated by the 5-1 loss, cross-checked Hathaway in the back in retaliation. The referees stopped the play and were about to send them off for off-setting minors before Hathaway dropped the gloves.
Hathaway, being the more polished fighter, defeated Cozens with ease as he landed several punches flush on the face/helmet area. Cozens, who couldn't get his arms free or keep his head up, turtled before Hathaway landed the final blow.
As they headed towards their respective locker rooms, Cozens threw a piece of equipment in anger before walking off.
The Flyers won the game 5-1, Hathaway scored his 2nd of the season and finished with 3 hits, while Cozens was a minus-1 with 3 hits as well in 14:37 TOI.
