MUST WATCH! Ex-NHLer facing potential lifetime ban after intentionally kicking player in the face
Every now and again, something happens in the hockey world that drops everyone's jaws and raises plenty of eyebrows, but for all of the wrong reasons. Hockey is a contact sport, but sometimes players cross lines, and once they do, it can be nearly impossible to come back from.
In Swiss National League action on Friday, ex-NHLer Martin Frk found himself in some major hot water after actually kicking another former NHLer, Lawrence Pilut, in the face with his skate.
Notice how Frk actually turns his body and puts a little extra effort into the kick that did the damage. This appears to be intentional and given what had recently occurred in the U.K. with Adam Johnson, leagues shouldn't be leaving anything to chance when it comes to skate infractions. Players' health and even their lives are quite literally on the line.
According to reports, Frk was ejected from the game as a result of the play and while no official decision has been made by the league as of yet, it wouldn't be shocking to see Frk tossed out of the league at this point.
