Team USA Honouring the Late Johnny Gaudreau in Unique Way Throughout 4 Nations Face-Off

As the 4 Nations Face-Off is set to begin, with Team Canada facing Team Sweden to open the tournament on Wednesday, all the teams are eager to represent their countries -- though perhaps none more so than Team USA. Filled with superstar talent, they are also playing in honor of someone who is no longer with us.

According to Luke Fox on X, Team USA is paying tribute to Johnny Gaudreau, whose life, along with that of his brother Matthew Gaudreau, was tragically cut short after they were struck by a drunk driver back in August.

Fox has confirmed, via Team USA's Chris Kreider, that Team USA has a stall where Johnny Gaudreau's jersey hangs with the rest of what would have been his teammates.

This heartwarming gesture by Team USA follows a trend seen across the NHL this season, with many teams honoring the late American-born star.

Team USA has a real opportunity to win the tournament in Johnny Hockey's honor. They boast one of the most talented teams, so stacked that Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews is centering the second line instead of the first.

While Team USA certainly has much to play for, the tournament will still be challenging. The other three teams are filled with superstars, making this a fierce competition.

Team USA is set to begin their tournament Thursday February 13th, when they take on Aleksander Barkov and Team Finland.
