Corey Perry delivers two sucker punches before getting filled in by Bruins defenseman
The fans in Edmonton were treated to quite the game between the hometown Oilers and Boston Bruins last night. Lots of goals (11 on the board), plenty or physicality during and between the whistles, and they even got to watch veteran Corey Perry drop the gloves.
With the score 3-1 Bostin during the 2nd period of play, Perry and Bruins defenceman Parker Wotherspoon engaged in a fight. As Wotherspoon was getting his gloves off, Perry capitalizes on the opportunity delivering a couple of sucker punches to start the fight. Wotherspoon gathered himself, though, firing back with a series of punches. The refs eventually got involved to breakup the pair, sending both to the box for five minutes for fighting, while Perry got an extra two minutes for roughing.
The Oilers didnt go away quietly in front of their home fans as they mounted a comeback in the third with Perry contributing with this 7th of the season. In the end, the home fans had to settle for one point thanks to an overtime winner by Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy.
