With the Leafs trailing 3-2 in the third period, the pace of play along with the intensity were starting to increase rapidly. Following a puck race that saw Morgan Reilly sending Braydon Point into the boards, the chaos had begun to unfold between the two Atlantic Division rivals. Even from the press box, General Manager Kyle Dubas was fired up.
In a video that surfaced on Twitter on Sunday morning from a fan's perspective, Leafs Nation has been blessed with an alternative angle on the Dubas vs Bolts fan matchup. With scrums ensuing on the ice, fans and Dubas had begun to verbally go at one another off the ice. In the original video, it was near impossible to make out what was said. In this video, it looks as if Dubas is sarcastically saying to Lightning fans "You're a hero/what a hero" while the Bolts fans are shouting back "Go back to Canada". Take a look for yourself.
Dubas was FIRED UP! Dubas is acting as a true Leaf fan, showing that he most definitely has the passion. With the box seats and crowd seats that close to one another (with little to no separation), it can be assumed the Bolts fans were likely giving it to Dubas all game long and every man has his breaking point. Good on Dubas for putting these fans in their place. The win must have felt even sweeter for the Leafs' GM.
