An NHL assistant coach insinuates that Jon Cooper is just being a crybaby with his too many men drama

During last night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Colorado Avalanche and forward Nazem Kadri capitalized in overtime to take a 3-1 series lead and a chance to win their first Stanley Cup since 2001 at home in Friday's Game 5 from Ball Arena in Denver.

While the Avs skated away with the win, it was not without controversy, as the officials had apparently missed a "too many men" penalty on the Kadri goal, as Nathan MacKinnon had not yet left the ice surface.

Of course, a brief review of the play also showed two Tampa players in a similar position to where MacKinnon was, meaning that Tampa actually had 7 players on the ice at the time of the goal as well, if you go by Jon Cooper's opinion.

Cooper was visible rattled following the conclusion of the game, insinuating that the officials had blown the game, but not directly coming out and saying it for fear of backlash and reprimand by the League. However, another NHL coach thinks Cooper was just being dramatic.

According to Boston Hockey Now reporter Jimmy Murphy, he had spoken to an NHL assistant coach from another franchise who had this to say: "That's a farce. Happens every shift. No impact on goal."

Cooper is certainly known for having an excuse for every loss. Perhaps you'll recall in round 1, every game the Lightning lost to the Leafs, it was because they handed the Leafs the game and not because the Leafs deserved to win.

The Lightning are now on the ropes and will have to win 3 straight against the Bolts in order to win the series in 7 games. What's worse is that they'll have to do that with 2 of the next 3 games taking place in enemy territory. I don't like their odds.
