Beloved Leaf decides to call it a career; to remain with the team in new capacity

After 19 career seasons, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jason Spezza has officially announced his retirement. Spezza will remain with the Leafs as a special assistant to General Manager Kyle Dubas.
Spezza was drafted 2nd overall in the 2001 NHL entry draft. Spezza has played 1248 career games for the Ottawa Senators, Dallas Stars, and most recently, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Spezza will finish his playing career with 995 career points.
