The Dallas Stars are looking forward to the upcoming season, hoping to improve on their overall record and playoff performance from last year. With new additions such as forward Mason Marchment and defenseman Colin Miller, the Stars are hoping they can compliment their core, which includes young stars like Roope Hintz, Miro Heiskanen, Jake Oettinger and the still unsigned Jason Robertson. The roster wasn't the only area the Stars organization wanted to make changes, as per a report on Monday, the club has hired former goaltender Ben Bishop as a Player Development Coordinator.

Bishop was drafted 85th overall in the 2005 NHL Draft. The American netminder posted a .921 SV% and 2.32 GAA in 413 games split between five teams, with his last four NHL seasons with the Stars organization. Bishop had battled injury issues in the last couple of years of his career, primarily with his right knee. On December 14th, 2021, he made the decision to retire from professional hockey.

Though Bishop was not able to help the Stars reach their ultimate goal of a Stanley Cup as a player, he now has the ability to help them reach it from a front-office position.
